Unpae “un paese tutto per te” è un progetto di residenza che ha luogo nel villaggio di Roccacaramanico, tra le montagne abruzzesi. Ideato da Andrea Croce nel 2018, successivamente il team si è ampliato con Alessia Delli Rocioli (co-curatrice) e Michele Sablone (graphic designer).
Il progetto pone l’accento sullo scambio libero tra vari attori: il contesto mutevole del paese montano – che da ghost town diventa luogo di villeggiatura – e gli invitati – artisti, curatori o ricercatori di ogni sorta – che si trovano liberi nell’indagare il luogo in un clima generale di libertà e spontaneità.
Unpae è uno spazio nel quale ogni pratica artistica è accolta dai locali (paesani, villeggianti, animali); il nostro proposito è quello di collegare le realtà lasciando tutti liberi di fare. Unpae è un progetto in divenire che si ridefinisce continuamente, ma rimane costante il senso di comunità e di gruppo; per gli artisti diventa uno spazio di ricerca ma anche un luogo nel quale nascono legami affettivi e, a residenza conclusa, ne rimane un ricordo costante.
Le varie edizioni sono tra loro molto differenti. Ogni anno sembra che le dinamiche della residenza si autoproducono – trasformino – in base alle circostanze, alle esigenze del luogo e alle relazioni che si instaurano tra i partecipanti, senza mai adeguarsi ad una direzione prestabilita.

Unpae “un paese tutto per te” is a residency project taking place in the village of Roccacaramanico, in the mountains of Abruzzo. Conceived by Andrea Croce in 2018, later the team expanded with Alessia Delli Rocioli (co-curator) and Michele Sablone (graphic designer).
The project emphasizes the free exchange between various actors: the changing context of the mountain village – which from a ghost town becomes a resort – and the guests – artists, curators or researchers of all sorts – who are free to investigate the place in a general atmosphere of freedom and spontaneity.
Unpae is a space in which every artistic practice is welcomed by the locals (villagers, vacationers, animals); our purpose is to connect the realities leaving everyone free to do. Unpae is an ongoing project that is constantly redefined, but the sense of community and group remains constant; for the artists it becomes a space for research but also a place where emotional ties are born and, after the residency is over, a constant memory remains.
The various editions are very different from each other. Every year it seems that the dynamics of the residency self-produce – transform – according to the circumstances, the needs of the place and the relationships established among the participants, without ever adapting to a pre-established direction.
